In a desperate effort, Labor deliberately filibustered the Senate Economics Committee hearing to protect their housing agency from Senators’ questions.

‍

In effect, Labor cancelled the appearance of Housing Australia to avoid embarrassment.

‍

Labor Senators (the government) asked APRA questions for an hour to ensure there was no opportunity to inquire into the Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF) boondoggle.

‍

Labor has been so desperate to cover up their failure to build a single house in three years that they falsely attributed 340 houses as being built by the HAFF.

‍

Finance Minister Gallagher told Senate Estimates that the 340 houses were “acquired” not built. This massive disclosure on Wednesday afternoon clearly drove the filibuster.

‍

The Coalition had many questions for Housing Australia including:

  • Is the HAFF actually on a duck?
  • How were the 340 houses acquired?
  • Which parties have won contracts in the failed tender process?
  • How many NDAs have been foisted onto tender participants?
  • How many "availability payments" have been made to institutional investors?

These are questions Labor is desperate to cover up. The questions will not go away.
