Today’s inflation data shows housing inflation is out of control.

ABS data shows rents were up by 7% in the 12 months to June.

ABS data released yesterday also highlighted a further 6.5% drop in dwelling approvals.

The 30% tax issued by the CFMEU on Australian building, supported by Labor, is making housing unaffordable.

Labor will never solve the housing crisis because they have been held hostage by the CFMEU and their housing policies have failed.

After spending billions on housing bureaucracies which don’t build houses, is it any wonder Australia has built just 160,000 houses in the last year compared to 230,000 just 7 years ago?

The trifecta of failed policies includes the housing targets, the Housing Australia Future Fund and the shared equity scheme.

The Australian dream is dying under Labor which has given up on individual home ownership. Labor’s inflation makes the dream even harder to achieve.

The Coalition’s policies on housing would change the trajectory for young people wanting a piece of the dream.
