ASIC Cover up Exposed

ASIC’s attempted cover up fell over last week. It only lasted 30 minutes. Today we learn that ASIC may have misled Parliament.

This is a very serious development. It could lead to ASIC being held in contempt of the Senate. This is a terrible position for the corporate cop.

It is a laughing stock. No wonder ASIC is seen as a toothless tiger. There is a major problem at ASIC. The culture of the organisation is sick.

I am also worried the Government’s Minister at the table accepted ASIC’s statements without question but has walked back her support today.

Rather than enforcing the law and protecting Australians, ASIC is playing politics and silly games. The Senate inquiry into ASIC is more important than ever.

No wonder ASIC sought to kill the inquiry. The Senate Inquiry will now canvass the culture of the organisation in its recommendations.
