Appointment to Voice Select Committee

As a long term supporter of the Voice concept, I am pleased to join the new Select Committee. I believe the most important matter is the proposed wording to amend the Australian Constitution. Future laws will come and go, but this is the only thing that is going to be nailed down. I’ve listened to the many views about the words proposed at Garma last year, and in Canberra last week. The Committee can now assess the claims and counterclaims. No one has a monopoly on wisdom, and I’m sure the Committee will take that into account. I understand how important this is to many Australians. I will work in a collegial way on this important Committee. **[Ends]** ‍
