Dear Friend,

In life and in politics, it is best to focus on what we can control. I have sought to use my platform to advance the case for free markets, free individuals and an Australia which is strong, prosperous and fair.

The last year has been extremely challenging for the Liberal Party, but this provides opportunities as well. As we remain in Opposition, I am determined to use the authority of the Senate to hold the government to account and to develop an alternative policy vision as part of our team.

On policy, I have pushed for the development of a genuine reform agenda for Australia - one built around lifting housing supply, lower taxes, less red tape, and faster environmental approvals to help safely develop our abundant energy resources.

On scrutiny, I have held the Albanese Government to account for the worst productivity performance in decades, the mismanagement of Housing Australia, and its persistent culture of secrecy. When the government refused to release 5% deposit scheme modelling, I pushed. When Labor tried to legislate opacity into the Freedom of Information system, we fought against it.

am never going to give up on trying to get the best deal for Australians today and the Australians of tomorrow. Promoting transparency and scrutiny is a given. But what we need in this next year is serious policy. I pledge that policy development will be my focus over the next 12 months.

It is a privilege to represent you, and if I can be of assistance in any manner, please do not hesitate to contact my office.

Regards,

Senator Andrew Bragg
